RENATURE Project Officially Launched in Salamanca
The RENATURE project – Resilience to Climate Changes through Nature-based Technologies in the EU: an Open Resource Education Programme – officially commenced with its kick-off meeting held in Salamanca, Spain, on 20–21 November 2025. Representatives from all partner organizations gathered to launch the project, establish a common vision, and coordinate the activities that will be implemented over the coming years.
During the two-day meeting, partners introduced their organizations and discussed the project’s objectives, expected outcomes, and work plan. Special attention was given to the development of innovative educational resources focused on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and their role in addressing the impacts of climate change. The consortium also reviewed the current state of the art in NbS, exchanged experiences from previous Erasmus+ projects, and explored opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The meeting provided an important opportunity to address the project’s operational framework, including quality assurance procedures, evaluation methodologies, financial management, and administrative requirements. Partners also discussed the visual identity of the project and reviewed initial logo concepts that will contribute to establishing a strong and recognizable RENATURE brand.
On the second day, discussions focused on communication and dissemination activities. The consortium outlined strategies for the project website, newsletters, stakeholder engagement, and the activation of National Reference Groups in the participating countries. These activities will help ensure that the project’s results reach educators, vocational training providers, policymakers, and other relevant stakeholders across Europe.
The meeting concluded with the planning of activities for the first six months of implementation, an update of the project timeline, and the scheduling of future meetings. The successful kick-off meeting established a strong foundation for cooperation among partners and marked the beginning of an exciting journey towards promoting climate resilience through education and Nature-based Solutions.
The RENATURE consortium looks forward to working together to develop innovative educational resources and strengthen awareness of sustainable approaches that can help communities adapt to the challenges posed by climate change.
